Registered member of UOI can login to accounts from members area tab and can submit the metadata of the material in order to assign the UOI license for their material.

The cost depends upon the services you have purchased. The UOI search system does not determine the costs charged to end users. Existing UOI licenses can be resolved by users free of charge. For the membership charges and types of memberships please check in members area tab.

It can be any scientific entity — journals, articles, patents, conference materials, books and etc. — that you wish to identify as scientific items, primarily for sharing with an interested scientist user community or managing as intellectual scientific property.

The UOI does not have rules on this. If it is necessary to identify both the original and changed material, assign new UOI, otherwise it is not necessary.

The UOI license system implements the Handle System and adds to it some other features.

The activities of the UOI are controlled by its members, operating under a legal Charter and formal By-laws. Membership is open to all organizations with an interest in scientific network publishing, scientific content distribution, rights management, and related enabling technologies. A list of current members is available here. See more information about the UOI and its membership. Send a request to contact@u-o-i.org for information about joining.
